The great thing about WordPress is its flexibility, and same goes with the whole look and skin of your WordPress-engined site. Called WordPress themes, they serve as the packaging to your site, and will control both the look and feel. These templates come in many categories; the two most distinct types of themes being the premium / professional looking ones and the free-for-all, imaginative and creative themes.
The premium themes are themes which come at a cost, and are often catered to businesses and ventures. However there is becoming an increasing trend in professional looking yet free templates which can match these premium templates rather well. This is good news for site developers who are on a budget and yet wish to have cool and professional looking wordpress sites.
Searching the net and having personally used some of these, here is my top 9 list in random order. They have been chosen on the matrices of both form and function as a professional site. Hover above each picture for the theme name, and click on it to go to the main author’s page.
