I’m a firm believer that genius pours easily from the young ones. Adults sometimes are clouded with norms, rules and “what ought to be”. So when you are in need of inspiration, when you need some honest opinion, when you just need some genius, listen to kids.
Here’s a masterclass by two 5 year olds I met in the elevator 20 minutes ago:
Little Boy: Sister, look at this. (Looks at pamphlet) “Please throw rubbish in rubbish bin”.
Little Sister: So simple. If have rubbish throw in bin. Must throw properly. Teacher say…
Little Boy: So simple. Still they don’t do…
Little Sister: They don’t do because maybe they don’t know how to do…
Lesson? :- The importance of product functionality and design simplicity. If your product manual is heavier than your product, something is seriously wrong.
